The Bulldogs’ hopes for a Mountain West title game rest on their defense.
A big win at Boise State? No panic.
A tough loss to San Diego State? No panic.

TV: FS1 (Trent Rush, Petros Papadakis)

“No panic” is the mantra developed by defensive back Simeon Harris, who posts the saying on X after every game.
“It’s really a message to the fans — just don’t panic whether we win or lose. We’ll be fine,” Harris said. “We’re still in the run for the Mountain West championship. Everything is right in front of us. We have nothing to worry about. We’re going to take it one day at a time.”
The message, Harris said, also applies to his teammates.
Laffitte Returning, Better Than Ever
Defensive lineman Deijon Laffitte said he is ready to go. He missed the Nov. 1 Boise State game because of an MCL sprain in his left knee.
A temporary setback, as legendary Bulldogs coach Jim Sweeney liked to say. Truth is, things are starting to click for the sophomore from Inglewood, who has been dominant at times this season.
“The game is starting to slow down for me. I had to shake off the first-half funk, but I’m really getting comfortable in our scheme and knowing how to execute my plays no matter what the offense does,” Laffitte said.
Analysts repeatedly say teams need to win “in the trenches.” Laffitte has his own guideline.
“Defensive line coach Jordan Gigli is really emphasizing being bullies, reestablishing the line of scrimmage, getting knockoff, really just setting the tone, letting other o-lines or other teams know in general, like there’s no pushover, you going to come in, it’s time to work,” Laffitte said.
Winning the Turnover Battle
Both Fresno State coach Matt Entz and Wyoming coach Jay Sawvel talked about the importance of turnovers at their news conferences this week.
“We’re minus-3 on the season, and that can’t be,” Sawvel said. “We have to win the turnover margin. We have to take care of the ball.”
Fresno State is even in total turnovers. However, in its six wins, the Bulldogs are plus-nine.
“Statistically, it tells you that you’ve got to protect the football. The ball is the program,” Entz said.
Sawvel’s other key to the game is to “dominate the run game” on defense.
Wyoming’s defense ranks fourth in the Mountain West, allowing 348 yards per game — 163 on the ground. Fresno State averages 154 rushing yards per game, ninth in the MWC.
Entz praised Wyoming linebacker Ben Florentine, noting how he “seldom comes off the field.”
The Cowboys have had problems on offense, ranking 10th in scoring (19.4 points per game) and 10th in yards per game (345.8).
New TV Deal for 2026
USA Network will broadcast several Pac-12 sports starting next season, the conference announced Thursday. Fresno State, along with four other Mountain West programs, is making the move in 2026.
USA, on the air since 1979, will broadcast 22 football games and several men’s and women’s basketball contests.
All home Pac-12 football games will air on USA, CBS/CBS Sports Network, or CW Sports. USA replaces Fox/FS1 in the TV deal.
Bracha Nominated for Award
Safety Camryn Bracha is up for an award recognizing the top walk-on player on an FBS team.
Bracha, a senior captain, was one of 79 players nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy, given annually to the player who started his career without a scholarship.
A Buchanan High School graduate, the Clovis native played at Fresno City College before transferring in 2023.
The winner will be announced Dec. 8.
Bulldogs to Wear Green Next Week
The Bulldogs will introduce special uniforms Nov. 22 at home against Utah State to celebrate the region’s agricultural heritage.
The uniforms will be white with green numbers and lettering. Inside the numbers will be graphics depicting agriculture — fruits, nuts, vegetables, and livestock.
The team will wear white helmets with the “Green V” logo on the side and the four-paw Bulldog on the back.
Fans are encouraged to wear white as well for the “whiteout” game that will be televised on FS1.
