A 23-year-old Lindsay man was arrested Wednesday after investigators determined he had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl that resulted in her pregnancy, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On Oct. 8, the sheriff’s office received a report that a 14-year-old girl had just given birth. Detectives later identified the father as Gerardo Calleja.
Further investigation revealed that Calleja had been in a relationship with the girl since she was 12 or 13, and she became pregnant at age 13.
On Wednesday, deputies took Calleja into custody without incident.
