California Highway Patrol officers arrested two 15-year-olds after a high-speed pursuit through Fresno that ended in a crash on Highway 99.
Officers first spotted the stolen vehicle near Ashlan and Valentine avenues in Northwest Fresno, the agency said Thursday.
When they attempted to stop it, the driver fled, reaching speeds of more than 100 mph before crashing while exiting at Adams Avenue.
Both teenagers, who are active gang members, were taken into custody.
Authorities emphasized the importance of keeping communities safe, preventing stolen car incidents, and holding both youth and adults accountable to avoid future tragedies.
