Thousands of visitors are expected to gather in Old Town Clovis this weekend for the 50th Annual ClovisFest and Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly, a two-day festival featuring balloons, culture, food and family activities.
Presented by the Clovis Chamber of Commerce and Table Mountain Casino Resort, the festival runs Saturday and Sunday and will include the popular Hot Air Balloon Fun Fly, sponsored by Noble Credit Union, at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds.
Visitors can watch pilots prepare their balloons during the early morning “dawn-fire” glow and, weather permitting, see them take flight. Tethered balloon rides will also be available for $25 on a first-come, first-served basis.
“We believe a strong, thriving business community is the foundation of a prosperous city. Through our collaboration with the Chamber, we aim to support the local economy and help create an environment where businesses can truly thrive,” said Michelle Heredia-Cordova, tribal chair of Table Mountain Rancheria.
International Village Will Showcase Central Valley’s Culture
Festivalgoers can explore the Visit Fresno County International Village which will feature music, dance and storytelling from cultural groups including the Polynesian Club of Fresno, Hmong Cultural & Art Preserve, and Sol Del Valle Clovis.
Other highlights include the Made in Clovis showcase and Children’s Business Fair, where local innovators and young entrepreneurs will present and sell their creations. Visa gift cards will be awarded to top entries, with winners announced Sunday afternoon.
Families can enjoy the Kids Zone with pony rides, a petting zoo, martial arts demonstrations and inflatables, along with more than 250 craft and commercial vendors offering handmade goods. Food vendors will line Pollasky Avenue with festival favorites from corn dogs to gyros.
ClovisFest runs along Pollasky Avenue between 3rd and 8th streets. Entry and parking are free.
