Clovis police used a drone Wednesday morning to help catch a shoplifting suspect who tried to flee on a stolen bicycle, authorities said.

Police said they were called just after 8 a.m. to the Walmart at Herndon and Clovis avenues for a report of a known shoplifting suspect.

The department’s Drone First Responder launched and located the suspect, who was later identified as Sean Baker, 19, attempting to get away, police said.

The drone tracked Baker across Herndon Avenue and guided officers until he was taken into custody in the roadway.

Baker faces charges including shoplifting, possession of burglary tools and obstructing an officer, police said.
