The city of Fresno is continuing paving work on Herndon Avenue between Brawley and Marks avenues, with lane reductions and planned nighttime intersection closures through Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Currently, eastbound traffic on Herndon is limited to one lane. Starting Sunday night, Sept. 21, one intersection will close each night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Crews will repave Marks and Herndon on Sunday night, Valentine and Herndon on Monday night, and complete paving in both directions between Valentine and Marks on Tuesday night.
Detour Routers in Place
Detour routes will be in place for each closure.
For Sunday’s work, eastbound drivers will be detoured south on Brawley, east on Figarden and Sierra, then north on Van Ness. Westbound traffic will use Van Ness, Sierra, Figarden and Brawley.
Additional detours will route traffic around Marks Avenue closures, including Spruce, Beechwood, Prospect and Fir avenues.
At least two lanes in each direction will reopen during the day. Full access is expected Wednesday morning, weather permitting. Striping and signal work will follow.
The city noted that work is subject to construction or weather delays.
