A driver was killed and another injured Sunday in a head-on crash on Goshen Avenue, police said.

Officers responded around 12:31 p.m. to the collision between a Nissan Altima and a Toyota Tacoma between Demaree Street and Mooney Boulevard, the Visalia Police Department said in a statement.

Investigators determined the Nissan, traveling eastbound, crossed the double yellow line and struck the westbound Toyota head-on, police said.

The Nissan’s driver was taken to Kaweah Health in critical condition and later died. The Toyota’s driver was also hospitalized, but their condition was not released.

The department’s Motors Unit is investigating the crash. Authorities have not determined whether drugs or alcohol were factors.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Visalia Police Department Traffic Unit at (559) 713-4175.
