The rain predicted for Fresno this week has been little more than a splash. But that’s expected to change Thursday with as much as a half-inch expected — and more possible if thunderstorms materialize.

The National Weather Service in Hanford says the rain will fall after 10 a.m. The precipitation will accompany 5-15 mph winds, with gusts up to 20 mph.

Rain is also likely on Friday before 10 a.m. The skies are expected to clear thereafter and Saturday’s NWS forecast calls for mostly sunny weather with a high of 57 and a low of 35.

Super Bowl Sunday Forecast

Anyone wanting to warm up for the Super Bowl (and the gobs of food that will be consumed watching it) with a walk, hike, or a family game of touch football can expect sunny skies and a high of 56 on Sunday.

A reminder: Kickoff for the Super Bowl is scheduled for 3:40 p.m, PT.

Sunny skies and calm winds are in Monday’s forecast. There is a 20% chance of rain on Tuesday and a 40% chance on Wednesday.
