Authorities Seize $160K, 100 Pounds of Marijuana in Merced County Traffic Stop

A California Highway Patrol K-9 officer seized 100 pounds of processed marijuana and $160,000 in cash during a traffic stop on Saturday on I-5 near Santa Nella Road, the CHP said in a statement.

The driver, Mei Xiancong, 38, of Los Angeles, was arrested after K-9 Shei alerted to narcotics during the stop.

The subsequent search uncovered the drugs and cash.

Xiancong faces charges of possession and transportation of marijuana for sale, authorities said.
