The National Weather Service reports that a storm system affecting the region over the weekend will move eastward, bringing colder air to central California.
Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 degrees are expected across the San Joaquin Valley.

The service warns that frost and freeze conditions could damage crops, sensitive vegetation, and unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Northeast winds will drive the cold temperatures, with freezing conditions likely in the valley Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

A Freeze Warning has replaced the previous Freeze Watch on Monday and will remain in effect until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
Residents are urged to protect vulnerable plants and animals from the cold.

This Week’s Temperatures
Monday will see a high of 55 degrees and a low of 33. Tuesday’s high will reach 57 with a low of 33, while Wednesday will have a high of 58.
Both Tuesday and Wednesday’s highs are within the Freeze Warning.
Wednesday night will drop to a low of 33. Temperatures will warm up Thursday with a high of 59 and a low of 35, followed by a high of 60 on Friday.
