A Clovis man is in custody facing 13 felony charges after police discovered a loaded handgun, methamphetamine, and evidence of other crimes during a traffic stop on Saturday afternoon, the Clovis Police Department said in a statement.
Gillespie’s two young children were in the car at the time of the stop. Authorities said they were released to family members.

Tevin Gillespie, 30, was pulled over by a Clovis police officer near Willow and Gettysburg avenues around 2 p.m. for a traffic violation.

Authorities said Gillespie, a gang member, had an outstanding warrant and was detained without incident. Officers found a loaded handgun in his jacket pocket and methamphetamine packaged for sale.
A search of Gillespie’s home uncovered a stolen shotgun, high-capacity magazines, and additional ammunition, police said.

Gillespie, a convicted felon, faces multiple charges, including child endangerment, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of drugs for sale, according to authorities. He remains in Fresno County Jail.
