A recent vandalism spree that struck multiple businesses and a residential complex in Sanger has led to the arrest of two suspects, Thomas Ramirez Sr., 46, and a teenager, the Sanger Police Department said in a statement.

Reports of smashed windows at local spots like Chipotle, Jack in the Box, Anytime Fitness, Burger King, and McDonald’s surfaced on Friday.

The suspects also allegedly hit a residence at Country Creek Apartments on 5th Street and North Bethel Avenue in Sanger.

Officers investigating the damage uncovered 3/8-inch steel balls — commonly used with a slingshot — at some of the sites.

City surveillance cameras soon led investigators to a maroon 2020 Ram pickup truck spotted near the targeted locations. Police traced the truck to Ramirez, who is the registered owner.

At his residence, officers found a box of steel ammunition and a slingshot matching evidence from the crime scenes.

They arrested Ramirez, along with a 17-year-old who also lives in the home, in connection with the vandalism.

Damages across the affected properties are estimated to exceed $5,000.

The suspects could face multiple felony charges, including vandalism and conspiracy.
