Fresno Unified has scheduled LCAP Community meetings at seven middle school locations, starting Thursday at Tioga Middle School.
LCAP is the Local Control and Accountability Plan, a process by which the community weighs in on how funding for schools should be allocated. Parents and community members can share their input through a ThoughtExchange survey on their top priorities for FUSD schools.
Each participant attending a meeting will receive an adult ticket and child ticket to the Fresno Chaffee Zoo, and a giraffe feeding ticket or a voucher for a large one-topping pizza from Me-n-Ed’s. Dinner, childcare, and translation services will be provided at the meetings, all of which start at 5 p.m. and will be held in the schools’ cafeterias.
The meetings will be held on these dates and at these locations:
- Thursday, Tioga Middle School
- Oct. 15, Tenaya Middle School
- Oct. 22, Scandinavian Middle School
- Oct. 24, Gaston Middle School
- Oct. 29, Sequoia Middle School
- Nov. 12, Fort Miller Middle School
- Nov. 14, Kings Canyon Middle School
“We encourage our families to share their ideas for funding priorities in Fresno Unified by attending the LCAP community meeting in their region, or any of the scheduled meetings,” Interim Superintendent Misty Her said in a news release. “The feedback we receive from these forums through the ThoughtExchange survey has a direct impact on the programs and services our district provides students.”
