CMAC, the Community Media Access Collaborative, which is headquartered in downtown Fresno, has received the Hometown Media Award for Overall Excellence in Public, Education, and Government Access from the Alliance for Community Media Foundation.
The ACM Foundation’s Hometown Media Awards aim to highlight the importance of local media in fostering community engagement, education, and advocacy.
This prestigious national award highlights CMAC’s efforts in providing a platform and resources for community storytelling through media.
The award was presented at the ACM’s 2024 Annual Conference in San Jose, California, on June 26. The Hometown Media Awards honor the best in community media nationwide, celebrating organizations that empower individuals and communities to create local content through PEG-access television channels.

“We are incredibly proud to receive this recognition,” said Johnny Pecina, Community Media Manager at CMAC. “This award underscores the vital role that CMAC plays in supporting our community’s voice by providing access to media production tools, education, and resources.”
