If you live in Huron, Caruthers, Biola, or Raisin City, Fresno County officials want to hear about your broadband internet needs.

Fresno County has extended the survey asking about internet availability, price, and reliability. Those willing to share about their connectivity can access the link through the QR code below.

Questions surround internet speed, price, and use. The survey will go on until Friday, Oct. 18.

Fresno County will share the results with federal and state governmental agencies, helping them better pursue grants for improved and affordable internet service.

California to Get $1.9 Billion to Build Out Internet Infrastructure

The ultimate goal is to expand broadband internet to rural communities underserved by federal and state broadband grant programs.

In June, President Joe Biden allocated $42 billion to be divided among the states to make high-speed broadband universal by 2030, according to Reuters. The money comes as part of the $1 trillion infrastructure law from Biden.

California is set to get $1.9 billion of that fund.

“It’s the biggest investment in high-speed internet ever. Because for today’s economy to work for everyone, internet access is just as important as electricity, or water, or other basic services,” Biden said.
