A California Highway Patrol Central Division K-9 officer seized approximately 15 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 in Fresno County, leading to the arrest of two suspects, the CHP reported in a news release.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at 2:35 p.m. when the officer conducted an enforcement stop on a Chrysler van for a traffic violation near northbound I-5 and Panoche Road.
The officer noted indicators of possible criminal activity from the two occupants, prompting a search of the vehicle.
During the search, authorities found around 15 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in the rear cargo area, with an estimated street value of approximately $136,200. Additionally, the passenger was found in possession of cocaine.

Eduardo Castaneda-Raymundo, 25, of Tacoma, Washington, and Juan Manuel Salas-Ponce, 40, of Puyallup, Washington, were arrested and transported to the Fresno County Jail.
They face multiple felony charges, including possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine across non-contiguous counties, and possession of cocaine.
