The Madera County Sheriff’s Office announced on social media the arrests of four suspects in connection with a burglary at Pedal Forward Bikes & Adventure in Oakhurst early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 5 a.m., deputies received a call regarding an alarm activation at the store, located in the 40000 block of Highway 41.

Alarm company representatives reported that two masked individuals were seen inside the store stealing bicycles and loading them into a white van.

An officer arrived on the scene within five minutes and confirmed a burglary had occurred, although the suspects had already fled.

Suspects Fled Officers Causing 11-Mile Pursuit

While patrolling the Coarsegold area, a deputy spotted a white Ford E-350 van traveling southbound on Highway 41.

When he attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the van then led deputies on an 11-mile pursuit.

The chase concluded when a deputy deployed spike strips at the intersection of Highways 41 and 145. Despite driving on flat tires, the van crashed into an embankment near the Madera Canal, south of Avenue 15.

Four suspects exited the van and fled in different directions. As additional deputies arrived, three suspects were quickly caught: Orlan Doser, 62, Earwin McCullar, 58, and Manuel Tejeda, 57, all from Fresno.

An officer later returned to the area after booking the first three suspects and found the fourth suspect, Isaac Alvarez, 27, also of Fresno.

Deputies recovered eight bicycles valued at over $20,000 from the van, all confirmed stolen from Pedal Forward Bikes & Adventure.
