Roadwork is scheduled on Highway 168 from Cressman Road to Warbler Lane in Shaver Lake and it could result in delays for travelers to the mountain community, Caltrans says.
The rehabilitation work will involve cold planing, hot mix asphalt paving, and restriping of existing lanes. The existing pavement has shown considerable wear and tear, necessitating upgrades to reduce future maintenance costs.
Schedule and Work Details
- Grinding and Paving: The damaged sections of the roadway will be ground down and repaved. This phase is scheduled for completion by the end of September.
- Striping and Sign Upgrades: Following the paving, lane striping and updates to signage will be carried out, with an expected completion date of mid-October.
- Hours of Operation: Work will take place Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Traffic Management: One-way reverse traffic control will be in effect during working hours within the construction zone, and motorists should anticipate delays.
Closures may be extended if weather or unforeseen events cause delays. Motorists are advised to follow posted detours throughout the various stages of the project.
