Jerome Jupiocio Avilez, 60, of Visalia was found guilty of nine felony counts of lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14 Tuesday, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.

The jury also determined that Avilez’s crimes involved multiple victims and included substantial sexual conduct.

Court records show that Avilez’s offenses took place between 2021 and 2022 and involved three female minors.

The court also confirmed that Avilez had a prior conviction for a forcible lewd act upon a child dating to 1988.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 14 and Avilez could face life in state prison. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.
