Detectives with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium arrested three male students at McLane High School in connection with gang-related violence near a Fresno Auto Zone store, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said on Saturday.

The suspects, two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old, were booked into juvenile hall on gun-related charges.

The incident occurred on Wednesday near the intersection of Clinton and Cedar. Deputies responded to reports of shots fired and discovered that no one was injured.

A 15-year-old boy allegedly used a handgun to pistol-whip another teenager. As the situation intensified, a 16-year-old student reportedly fired multiple shots as the crowd dispersed, striking a vehicle and a nearby restaurant.

Witnesses provided deputies with descriptions of those involved, including the gunman, and shared videos recorded at the scene. Approximately 30 minutes after the shooting, the 16-year-old suspect was apprehended in a nearby neighborhood.

The 15-year-old boy who allegedly pistol-whipped another teenager was later arrested, along with a second 15-year-old accused of helping the gunmen dispose of their firearms. The weapons have not yet been recovered.

MAGEC was assisted by the Sheriff’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team in making these arrests.
