The owners of one of Clovis’ most popular steak restaurants has a new eatery catered to the earlier part of the day.

Yolked Kitchen opened last week, serving American regional breakfast food at Willow and Nees avenues.

“We have everything from the classic potatoes, eggs and sausage and bacon all the way to Croque Madame, which is a very delicious breakfast sandwich with the fried egg on top,” said Falina Marihart, owner of Yolked Kitchen. Marihart and her husband also own 13 Prime Steak, in the same shopping center.

Mariharts Enlisted 13 Prime Chef for Breakfast

For those familiar with the Marihart’s nearby steakhouse 13 Prime Steak, diners can expect a similar menu variety. Chef Tommy Chavez had a breakfast restaurant in Visalia he closed after he went to work with the couple.

The Mariharts wanted to do the same concept in Clovis.

If you want to stick with traditional eggs and pancakes those are available, but there are also some more creative options. The New Mexican Christmas Burrito has your potatoes, sausage, and egg, but also a fried egg on top and both red and green sauce.

Marihart’s personal favorite is the Netflix and Chilaquiles.

“It’s just the perfect amount of food where you’re not full, but you’re content and it’s flavorful and it’s so delicious,” Marihart said.

For non-meat eaters, there are also vegetarian options. The restaurant’s vegan burrito comes with sweet potatoes and tofu.

‘If You Don’t Have a Mocktail on Your Menu, You’re Missing Out’

Beyond food, Yolked also has a full cocktail bar, serving a variety of specialty drinks as well as mimosas.

In the coming months, a lunch menu will be added. Once the fence is added, the patio will be available for dining.

Marihart recently went to the National Restaurant Association convention in Chicago and one of the lessons she walked away with was the importance of non-alcoholic “mocktails.”

“If you don’t have a mocktail on your menu, you’re missing out,” Marihart said.

All of the craft cocktails they serve can be made without alcohol. For designated drivers or people who simply don’t drink alcohol, they provide a tasty alternative.

What Marihart noticed was while the mocktails get attention from all age groups, it’s the younger generations who really latched on. Many come in on doing a cleanse but still want to try interesting flavor concoctions.

“It’s interesting to see why they’re doing it,” Marihart said. “It’s like no one would ever probably have thought of that in my generation.”

Yolked Kitchen is at 1305 N. Willow Ave.
