The Central Valley’s largest independent medical group has rebranded as Inspire Health Medical Group.

Originally Central California Faculty Medical Group, the more-than 300 physicians provide care for patients and teach at facilities throughout the area.

“For more than 45 years, we have ensured access to a level of vital medical specialties in the Central Valley that in some cases can only be found in major metropolitan areas,” said Joyce Fields-Keene, CEO of Inspire. “Our physicians, advanced practice providers, and staff have come to the Valley and made it their home, drawing inspiration from the strength and determination of the people of this community, and we are excited to now have a brand identity that embodies exactly that.”

Teaching Faculty Train Almost 300 Residents and Fellows Each Year

The group has 300 physicians, nearly 100 advanced practice providers, and 300 clinical and administrative support staff. Doctors there span multiple specialties.

Through a partnership with UCSF School of Medicine, teaching members of Inspire train nearly 300 residents and fellows each year at the university’s Fresno campus. Many of the residents decide to stay and practice in the Valley.

“Caring for patients in need is why most physicians choose to go to medical school,” said Randall Stern, MD and chairman/president of Inspire Health Medical Group. “We see participation in a world-class teaching program as an additional honor and a privilege.”

The rebranding comes after a lawsuit between Community Health Systems — the hospital network that includes Community Regional Medical Center — and CCFMG.

The lawsuit accused CCFMG of working with neurosurgeons to walk out on the hospital in 2020, threatening the hospital’s Level I Trauma designation.

The two parties have agreed to settle.
