Fresno County Hit by Over 1,000 Lightning Strikes, Multiple Fires Ignited

Over 1,000 lightning strikes in three hours on Monday ignited multiple fires in eastern Fresno County, with authorities urging residents to stay vigilant and heed evacuation orders. (Twitter)

Eastern Fresno County was struck by over 1,000 lightning bolts in just three hours on Monday, igniting multiple regional fires.

Firefighters are currently battling the following blazes in Fresno County:

  • Flash Fire: Situated at Kings Canyon and Cove Road, this fire has spread to 170 acres and remains 0% contained.
  • Muscat Fire: At Crawford and Muscat, this fire has burned 140 acres and is 80% contained.
  • Bolt Fire: Located in the Wonder Valley area at Palomino and Elwood Road, this fire has reached 120 acres and is 0% contained.

Authorities are urging residents to stay vigilant and follow any evacuation orders. Evacuation warnings are currently for zones K72, K75 and K93.
