Experts will answer questions about changes to the carrying a concealed weapon permit laws. Raffles will held for apparel and firearms.

There will be a firearms training simulator, and booths by SWAT, search and rescue, and explosive ordinance disposal.

Speakers include Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni, attorney Roger Wilson, CCW coordinator Kevin Draughon, and other CCW trainers.

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

How Did SB2 Change CCW Laws

Senate Bill 2 took effect Jan. 1. The law made it illegal to carry guns in public places such as parks, playgrounds, churches, banks, and anywhere alcohol is sold.

After a lower court determined the law was unconstitutional, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals put an injunction on the law, meaning CCW holders could still legally carry in public places, according to Tony Botti, public information officer for the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.

The law also changed how CCW instructors can get their certifications.
