The Shinzen Friendship Garden in Fresno’s Woodward Park is gearing up to host “Strides for Wellness,” an event focused on health education and activities in collaboration with the California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine class of 2024 students.
Open to all ages, “Strides for Wellness” offers attendees a range of activities aimed at promoting holistic well-being.
These activities include guided yoga and meditation sessions, mindful walking, and arts and crafts. The medical school students will also conduct educational seminars covering topics such as diabetes and hypertension management, strategies for dealing with depression and burnout, and tips for maintaining a balanced and nutritional diet.

Casey Lamonski, the executive director of the Shinzen Friendship Garden, says “we’re thrilled to partner with local medical school students from CHSU to host this event, it’s so important for the community to have free resources to improve their health and wellness and our garden is the perfect setting for this as it’s very tranquil and calming.”

- Admission: Free with pre-registration (limited spots available)
