Rich Logis, a former staunch Republican and Ultra-MAGA supporter, recently shared his personal journey in an opinion piece for Newsweek. Logis, who voted for Donald Trump four times and actively participated in volunteer calls for both Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, says he was once a strong proponent of the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) ideology.

Logis writes that his views began to shift after particular national events prompted him to reevaluate his support for Trump and DeSantis, leading to a significant change in his political perspective.

He candidly acknowledges the strain his previous MAGA beliefs placed on his personal life, including his marriage and relationships with his children, citing his support for certain conspiracy theories associated with the movement.

But his subsequent self-reflection ultimately led Logis to adopt a more critical and nuanced approach to political ideologies.

Now identifying as a “born-again human being,” Logis encourages fellow conservatives to engage in their own introspection and reconsider their political stances, advocating for a more thoughtful and nuanced approach to political discourse.

His story underscores a broader sentiment among some conservatives who have distanced themselves from Trumpism, seeking a more balanced and informed political perspective. This narrative serves as a reminder of the evolving landscape within conservative circles and the ongoing dialogue about the future direction of the Republican Party.
