President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in South Carolina was repeatedly disrupted by protesters Wednesday night, with at least a dozen people interrupting the president as he sought to rally support for Republicans ahead of the midterm elections.

CNN correspondent Alayna Treene, who attended the rally, said she counted at least 12 protesters who stood up and interrupted Trump during his remarks.

Some protesters shouted profanities at the president, while others accused him of being a criminal and a traitor, Treene reported.

Trump appeared to brush off the disruptions, making jokes about the protesters as the interruptions continued.

“I tell you, these people are crazy,” Trump said.

Despite the repeated interruptions, Trump continued his remarks and praised law enforcement officers working at the rally.

Treene said the president repeatedly complimented officers for their handling of the disruptions, saying they did a great job.
