A 34-year-old woman was shot and killed Wednesday night in a domestic violence-related incident in Fresno, and her partner was arrested on suspicion of murder, police said.

Central Policing District officers responded at 11:09 p.m. to 3206 N. Palm Ave. for a report of a shooting victim.

Officers found Tiffany Stewart suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by officers and emergency medical personnel, Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Homicide detectives determined the shooting involved Stewart and her domestic partner, identified as Jeffrey Randall, 29.

Investigators said Stewart and Randall had been arguing in the parking lot before the shooting. Police said Randall shot Stewart as she walked away from him.

Officers later contacted Randall in the immediate area and arrested him. He was booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of murder.
