The inaugural Ocean Way Festival has been canceled after impacts from Hurricane Marie caused significant beach erosion, festival organizers announced.

Organizers said the city of Santa Monica canceled the festival because storm surf and runoff had damaged the beach, making it impossible to safely hold the event as planned.

The two-day music festival had been scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, and Sunday, Sept. 27, at The Beach in Santa Monica.

The Killers were set to headline Saturday, alongside Jack White, Sublime, Alvvays, SG Lewis, 54 Ultra, Hot Chip DJs, DJ Harvey, Austin Millz, Vandelux, and Heidi Lawden.

Olivia Dean was scheduled to headline Sunday, with Khruangbin, Durand Jones & The Indications, Hiatus Kaiyote, BLOND:ISH, Poolside, Carlita, Good Neighbours, Coco & Breezy, Nala, and EREZ also on the lineup.

Organizers Plan Ocean Way for 2027

Organizers said plans are already underway to bring Ocean Way Festival to Santa Monica in 2027.

Refunds are being processed automatically, and ticket holders do not need to take additional action, according to the festival. Organizers said refunds may take a few business days to appear in customers’ accounts.

“We were so excited to spend a weekend together on The Beach, but can share that plans are already underway to bring the festival to Santa Monica in 2027,” organizers said.
