A DUI checkpoint conducted by Clovis police in Old Town Clovis on Thursday night resulted in one arrest on felony warrants and several citations, but no arrests for driving under the influence.
The checkpoint was held on northbound Clovis Avenue at 8th Street from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. as part of the department’s ongoing traffic safety efforts.
According to police, 408 vehicles passed through the checkpoint and 193 drivers were screened. Officers arrested one person on felony warrants, cited three drivers for license violations and towed one vehicle.
No DUI arrests were made during the operation.
Police thanked motorists for driving responsibly and using designated drivers. The department said another DUI checkpoint is planned later this month.
The checkpoint was funded through a grant from the California Highway Patrol’s Cannabis Tax Grant Program.
