A suspect was arrested Thursday in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries and thefts reported over the weekend in the Riverstone community, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies began investigating the incidents after multiple reports of stolen items from vehicles. With help from community members and neighborhood surveillance cameras, authorities identified a suspect vehicle believed to be a rental from Fresno.

The case was then forwarded to the Madera County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team, which located and detained a male suspect at a property in Fresno County.

Following the service of a search warrant, deputies recovered a majority of the stolen property. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail on suspicion of possession of stolen property.

Authorities said a second suspect connected to the crimes is currently in custody in Fresno County on unrelated charges and will be transported to Madera County upon release.
