Porterville Police Search for Missing Man Who Did Not Return From Walk

Police in Porterville are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who was reported missing late Tuesday night after leaving his home earlier in the day.

Salvador Baca Vargas was reported missing at approximately 10:05 p.m., according to the Porterville Police Department.

Authorities said Vargas left his residence in the 200 block of East Gibbons Avenue around 12 p.m. to go for a walk and did not return.

Vargas is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing about 160 to 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a pink checkered button-up shirt, brown pants and black shoes.
