Fresno County law enforcement leaders presented a $90,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County on Tuesday to support youth programs.

The funding, provided through Law Enforcement Asset Forfeiture, will distribute $30,000 annually from 2026 through 2028 to support mentorship, leadership, and opportunity for youth across all 14 club locations.

The Fresno Police Department said in a statement that youth who attend at least two hours, three days a week, achieve a 92% high school graduation rate.

The presentation included Fresno Police Chief Mindy Casto, District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp, Sheriff John Zanoni, and Probation Chief Kirk Haynes. Programs supported by the grant will focus on health and well-being, character and leadership development, sports programming, teen engagement events with law enforcement, and gang prevention education.

“We are grateful to DA Smittcamp and the voting committee for this authorization of funding,” said Jason Hannold, President & CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County. “It is vital to the sustainability of our organization and without it, we simply would not be able to do what we do in our community.”

“This investment reflects our shared commitment to prevention and to supporting the next generation. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County play a vital role in providing young people with the tools and guidance they need to succeed, and law enforcement is proud to support their work,” said Smittcamp in a statement.
