Fresno police issued 48 citations, towed 10 vehicles, and arrested four drivers for DUI during a citywide crackdown on illegal street racing and sideshows Sunday.
Motor units patrolled the city looking for reckless drivers and stunts, including “donuts” and other dangerous maneuvers.
Police said most car meet-ups remained lawful, but some drivers chose to leave recklessly.
The department warned that anyone who races or performs stunts risks having their vehicle impounded for 30 days.
Officers urged residents to report unsafe street racing by calling 9‑1‑1 or 559‑621‑RACE.
“Fresno is NOT the place for illegal street stunts,” police said in a social media post, thanking those who kept gatherings safe and reminding the public to stay back and stay safe.
