A man was hospitalized Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle while crossing an unmarked portion of an intersection in Clovis, authorities said.

Clovis police urge pedestrians to use marked crosswalks and for all road users, including e-bike riders, to slow down and stay alert, particularly in busy areas such as Old Town Clovis where foot traffic is common.

The collision occurred at 10:04 a.m. at Third Street and Veterans Parkway. The pedestrian was walking on the east side of the intersection, outside a marked crosswalk, when an adult female driver making an eastbound turn from a southbound parking lot lane struck him, Clovis police said.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was transported to a hospital. Police said the driver was not under the influence and remained at the scene, cooperating with officers.

No injuries were reported for the driver, who was free to leave after speaking with police.
