A warrant sweep in western Kern County led to multiple arrests and the seizure of stolen industrial materials, authorities said.
On Wednesday, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Taft Substation and detectives with the Rural Crimes Investigation Unit, assisted by the Kern County Probation Department, conducted an operation in the Taft and Maricopa areas targeting individuals with outstanding arrest warrants.
During the sweep, authorities arrested Joshua Green, 37, Jaime Baxtor, 34, and Branden Clark, 37, on outstanding felony warrants, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
Investigators also served a search warrant in the 400 block of Monteview Avenue in Taft. There, Laurentino Garcia Hernandez, 25, Isaias Torres-Torres, 25, Miguel Angel Llamas, 27, and Cirilo Sandoval Hernandez, 35, were arrested on suspicion of receiving or possessing stolen property, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy, in addition to outstanding warrants.
Detectives seized about 100 pounds of industrial-grade copper wire and six ceramic industrial fuses belonging to Pacific Gas & Electric Co.
All seven suspects were booked into the Lerdo jail facility, authorities said.
