Two El Dorado County deputies were shot Thursday morning while responding to a report of gunfire at a Camino home, authorities said.

The deputies were called to the residence shortly before 7:30 a.m. after Pacific Gas and Electric workers reported being fired upon, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office reported.

After more than three hours of attempts to contact the suspect, a shooting erupted on the scene, injuring the two deputies and the suspect, authorities said.

All three were transported to local hospitals. The deputies were reported in stable condition, and the PG&E worker sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
