Yamaha Motor Corp. is moving its U.S. headquarters from California to Georgia after nearly 50 years, CBS News reports.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced Tuesday the Japanese manufacturer will relocate to Kennesaw between late 2026 and 2028.
Yamaha has been based in Cypress, California, since 1979, after acquiring the land. The company cited structural reform to improve profitability amid U.S. tariffs and market changes.
Yamaha already employs over 2,300 people in Georgia, having moved its marine and motorsports businesses to Kennesaw previously.
Kemp called the relocation a “loud and clear testament” to the state’s appeal to global job creators.
