A motorist was arrested Saturday afternoon after authorities say he drove recklessly and nearly struck multiple vehicles while his alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit.

The Madera Police Department reported receiving a call about the erratic driver earlier in the afternoon. An officer located the suspect’s vehicle and initiated a DUI investigation.

Police identified the driver as Henry Rios. According to the department, Rios was found to be driving at nearly three times the legal limit.

No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Following the arrest, the police department issued a public reminder urging individuals to use ridesharing alternatives if they plan to drink.
