A 41-year-old man died after being stabbed multiple times Tuesday afternoon at a residence in southwest Fresno, and police are searching for his roommate in connection with the killing.

Officers with the Fresno Police Department’s Southwest Policing District responded at approximately 12:32 p.m. to a home near Hedges and Wheeler avenues following a report of a stabbing victim. Officers found Aubrey Galloway unresponsive and suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

Police and emergency medical personnel rendered aid before Galloway was transported to Community Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:13 p.m., authorities said.

Detectives learned Galloway had been involved in an argument with his roommate, London Smith, 45. During the dispute, Smith allegedly stabbed Galloway multiple times and then fled the residence on foot, traveling eastbound on Hedges Avenue, police said.

An extensive search for Smith was unsuccessful, and a murder warrant has been issued for his arrest.
