Chowchilla Police Arrest Yuba City Man on Weapons Charges After Traffic Stop

A 20-year-old Yuba City man was arrested Friday night after Chowchilla police found a concealed, loaded and unregistered firearm during a traffic stop, authorities said.
According to the Chowchilla Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop at about 9:38 p.m. Feb. 20 in the 100 block of South Montgomery Lake Way for a vehicle equipment violation involving no rear lighting.
During the stop, the officer located a concealed and loaded unregistered firearm equipped with an extended magazine, police said. The driver was arrested on related weapons charges.
Police said proactive enforcement efforts help keep illegal firearms off the streets.
