Fans of the original Game Boy Advance classics are heading back to Kanto.
The Pokémon Company International announced that Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version will be released on Nintendo Switch just in time for Pokémon Day on Friday, Feb. 27.
The games, remakes of the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green — the latter released as Pokémon Blue in the West — will be available for download from the Nintendo eShop following the conclusion of Pokémon Presents at 6 a.m. PST.
Originally released in 2004, FireRed and LeafGreen bring the beloved story and original Pokémon to modern consoles with updated graphics.
Players will revisit Kanto, explore the Sevii Islands, and battle or trade Pokémon locally, reliving the adventures that captivated fans more than two decades ago.
Whether returning to the region for nostalgia or discovering it for the first time, Pokémon Trainers will have the chance to experience the Kanto region that started it all.
