The Clovis Police Department has begun publishing a new monthly statistical spotlight to provide residents with a clearer picture of local law enforcement activity. The department released its first report Thursday, covering January 2026.

According to the report, officers responded to 7,463 calls for service during the month, made 412 total arrests, and handled 32 cases of drivers suspected of operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The department also reported 83 traffic collisions, 42 vehicle burglaries, and 12 residential burglaries. Dispatchers answered 3,283 911 calls during January.

The department said the “calls for service” statistic encompasses a broad range of activities, including police reports, traffic stops, collisions, community contacts, and follow-ups. Arrest totals reflect all law enforcement actions, while DUI arrests specifically identify drivers suspected of impairment. Collision reports include all incidents handled by patrol staff. Vehicle and residential burglaries reflect reports of thefts from vehicles and homes.

Along with the statistics, Clovis police offered residents a series of crime prevention tips, urging people to report suspicious activity immediately, lock doors, set alarms, use exterior lighting and security cameras, avoid leaving valuables in plain view, check mail daily, monitor for card-skimming devices, and keep records of serial numbers for valuable items.

The department encouraged residents needing assistance to call 911 for emergencies or the non-emergency line at (559) 324-2800.
