Officers with the Madera Police Department were investigating a traffic collision involving a bicyclist Wednesday in the area of Martin and D streets.

Police said multiple streets in the area were blocked off as officers conducted their investigation. Authorities asked the public to avoid the area.

The department acknowledged the closure comes during a busy morning period that includes student drop-off.

An update will be provided once roadways are reopened, police said.
