U.S. Senators Ted Budd (R-N.C.) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) introduced the bipartisan FUTURES Act Tuesday to boost defense cooperation with Israel.
The legislation seeks to accelerate research, development, testing, and industrial collaboration on technologies including artificial intelligence, missile defense, and counter-unmanned aerial systems.
Budd said the act strengthens existing bilateral programs and regional security, while Gillibrand emphasized long-term collaboration on shared threats. U.S. Representatives Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) and Don Davis (D-N.C.) introduced the House version, highlighting the initiative’s role in maintaining U.S. technological supremacy and converting advanced research into operational military capabilities.
