The Sanger Police Department issued a reminder on Thursday that students should remain on campus during the school day and express their views in safe and appropriate ways.

Police said adults who encourage or assist minors in leaving campus during instructional hours, in violation of the Education Code, could face misdemeanor charges under California Penal Code section 272.

The Clovis Police Department reported that they have identified two adults and are working to identify others, with plans to file misdemeanor charges for contributing to the delinquency of a minor from a Tuesday protest.

Sanger authorities also warned that anyone who engages in criminal conduct, including vandalism or inciting unlawful behavior, will be subject to arrest.

The department said it will continue working with Sanger Unified School District to protect student safety and maintain a safe school environment.
