Authorities arrested a 15-year-old after recovering a privately manufactured “ghost” AR-15 rifle during the service of a search warrant in Farmersville, officials said.
Members of the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gun Violence Enforcement Team, working with the Farmersville Police Department, served the warrant on Thursday in the 500 block of South Shasta Avenue, according to the Visalia Police Department.
Officers recovered the rifle during the search, and the juvenile was arrested as a result of the investigation.
The TARGET Task Force includes personnel from the California Department of Justice Bureau of Firearms, the Visalia Police Department, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The task force’s mission is to combine local, state and federal resources to reduce gun violence in Tulare County communities.
