OpenAI’s ChatGPT experienced a possible outage Tuesday, according to Downdetector.com.

Around 900 users reported issues to Downdetector at 8:53 a.m. PST. OpenAI’s status page indicated “GPT 5.2 Elevated Error Rates” and listed the service as experiencing “degraded performance.”

The company said it was investigating the issue with its GPT 5.2 Thinking model. The alert was posted at 8:46 a.m. PST.

Update at 9:21 a.m.

More than 2,000 users have reported issues with ChatGPT.

OpenAI’s status checker says that they are “continuing the investigation of the issue with model GPT 5.2 Thinking.”
