A 30-year-old man was arrested Thursday night after an attempted carjacking in Madera, police said.
According to the Madera Police Department, an officer was flagged down by the victim of an attempted carjacking that had just occurred near Yosemite Avenue and North B Street. Night shift officers responded as information was broadcast describing the suspect fleeing through an alley.
Police said the quick response and teamwork led officers to locate Raul Morales hiding in the backyard of a nearby residence. Morales was arrested and booked into the Madera County Jail.
Authorities said witnesses in the area provided vital information that helped officers establish a perimeter and search for the suspect.
Police said the cooperation between officers and community members led to the arrest.
