Anaheim Police Investigator Jaime Llamas, who served the department since 2006, died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a long fight with terminal brain cancer on Tuesday, the Anaheim Police Department said in a statement.
Llamas’ dedication and professionalism were honored as uniformed personnel and the department’s Honor Guard escorted him from his home, while the Air Support helicopter Angel flew overhead in tribute, officials said.
Fresno Police Department shared condolences and prayers for Llamas’ family and colleagues, saying, “Our hearts are heavy for the family and friends of the Anaheim Police Investigator Jaime Llamas. Thank you for your dedication to your community. We hold you all in our prayers during this difficult time.”
“While we mourn this loss, we also celebrate a life of service, strength, and commitment to others,” the Anaheim Police Department said, noting that Llamas’ legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the fellow officers who carry his memory.
